The Engagement
This is what happened:
March:
Marcus buys a very beautiful ring in the US. Since Marcus is incredibly bad at keeping secrets, he's in total angst the upcoming month.
Marcus secretly plans a trip to the Red Sea. He calls one of Malin's colleagues and asks her to reserve vacation on Malin's behalf.
April:
Saturday 19: Marcus takes Malin to La Famiglia, a very romantic restaurant on Kungsholmen (central Stockholm). Malin secretly hopes for a proposal, but is instead hijacked to Egypt on a diving trip.
- Tuesday 22: During a boat trip Malin is subtly expressing concerns that Marcus is a tad slow at taking the relationship to the next level.
Marcus, who was planning on popping the question closer to the end of the trip, can't wait. The very same evening he responds in spades. Ha!
After giggeling through a cosy dinner at an italian restaurant close to the hotel, Marcus tricks Malin over a romantically set bridge out to a small island in the red sea.
Marcus alludes to the insinuations made by Malin earlier that day, brings out the ring and asks Malin if she wants to become his for real. Malin responds by crying. A lot. Marcus assumes this is a good thing, since Malin really doesn't look very sad. She also says "of course I want to", which he interprets as a solid hint.
They repeatedly try to make their way back to the hotel, but have to stop every now and then for cry-and-collapse breaks.Jokes aside, it was very, very romantic.
